You Have No Idea What Happened in Your Meetings This Week

More than half of what gets said in your meetings is gone from memory within a day. There's a dead-simple fix that takes five minutes to set up.

You go to meetings all day. Your partner goes to different meetings. Friday comes. You sit down together. And then you spend thirty minutes trying to remember what happened that week.

Who said what. What you promised someone. What your partner promised someone else.

Half the time, something got missed. Not because anyone messed up. Just because nobody wrote it down. Or they wrote it down and lost it. Or they wrote down the wrong thing.

Here’s a number that might surprise you. More than half of what gets said in a meeting is gone from your memory within a day. By the end of the week, eighty percent of it is gone.

You’re running a business from memory. And memory is terrible at this job.

You left that meeting an hour ago. How much of it do you still remember?

There’s a tool called Granola. Here’s what it does.

You open your laptop. You start your meeting. Granola listens. It runs right on your computer. Nobody else on the call sees it. No robot joins your Zoom. No one asks “who’s the extra person?”

When the meeting is over, it gives you notes. Real notes. What you talked about. What you decided. What you said you’d do next.

You didn’t type anything. You didn’t hire someone to sit in the corner and write things down. It just happened.

It works with Zoom. Google Meet. Teams. Pretty much anything that makes sound on your computer. And there’s a free version you can try without spending a dime.

That’s it. That’s the whole thing.

Now think about Friday again. You sit down with your partner. But this time you don’t have to ask “so what happened this week?”

You already know. You read the notes. You know what your clients said. You know what your team promised. You know where the problems are.

Now you can skip the recap. You can just talk about what to do next.

That one change saves you hours. Every single week. Going from catching up to making decisions. That’s the difference.

But it goes further than that. You can look back at your own meetings and see things you missed while you were in them. A client who brought up the same complaint twice. An employee who keeps asking for help with the same thing. A vendor who said they’d send something over and never did.

When it’s written down in front of you, you see it. When it’s stuck in your head, you forget.

When it’s written down, you catch what you missed. When it’s in your head, you don’t.

And if you have people who run meetings without you — managers, team leads, your partner — you can read what happened without sitting in every room. You don’t have to be everywhere. You just read the notes.

American businesses lose thirty-seven billion dollars a year to bad meetings. Most of that isn’t because the meetings are bad. It’s because what happened in them disappears.

This isn’t about being techy. It’s about knowing what’s going on in your own business. Right now you’re losing stuff every week. Things people said. Things people promised. Ideas that came up and disappeared. A tool like Granola catches all of it for you. You stop forgetting. Your team stops dropping things. And the time you spend with your partner on Friday actually moves the business forward instead of just reviewing what already happened.

If you’ve ever walked out of a meeting and couldn’t remember what was decided by the next morning — that problem is solved now. It takes five minutes to set up.

And if you want help building a real system around your meeting notes — one that turns decisions into action items that actually get donethat’s what we do.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Granola and how does it work?

Granola is a meeting notes tool that runs on your computer. It listens to your meetings through your device — no bot joins the call, and nobody else can see it. When the meeting ends, it gives you notes with what was discussed, what was decided, and what needs to happen next. It works with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and most other meeting apps. There’s a free plan with unlimited meetings.

Is my meeting audio stored somewhere?

No. Granola does not store your audio. It turns your words into text in real time, then throws the audio away. It only keeps the written notes and the transcript. Your conversations stay private.

How much does it cost?

The basic version is free and gives you unlimited meetings. The business plan is fourteen dollars a month per person and adds team folders and sharing. The enterprise plan starts at thirty-five dollars and adds extra security and admin controls.

Do I need to be good with technology to use this?

No. You download it. You open your laptop. You start your meeting. That’s it. If you can join a Zoom call, you can use Granola.
