Fred brings decades of finance and accounting experience to Apex, having served in roles ranging from public accounting and internal audit to Vice President of Finance and Senior Consultant. He has worked extensively with small to mid-sized privately held and private equity–owned manufacturing companies, specializing in financial reporting, operations finance, cost accounting system overhauls, and strengthening internal controls.

He holds a BBA in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and is a licensed CPA and Certified Management Accountant. Fred enjoys partnering with clients to solve complex challenges and develop strategies for sustainable growth.

Jacob brings over a decade of experience in operations, supply chain, and AI system design, including leadership in the semiconductor industry where he built scalable systems and streamlined complex global operations.

As COO at Apex CAS, Jacob oversees our internal operations and also serves as a fractional COO for clients—leading system and operational assessments that uncover efficiencies and create a foundation for effortless scaling. He also heads our AI enablement services, helping individuals and teams leverage AI through well-designed, automated systems that work seamlessly in the background.

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys training for triathlons, redesigning homesteads, flying drones, and building local food and barter networks—always with a focus on connection, sustainability, and purposeful design.

Ani Qadri is a seasoned finance and accounting leader with nearly a decade of experience across controllership, budgeting, forecasting, and tax strategy. She has led teams, streamlined processes, and partnered with senior leadership to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.

Her background spans domestic and international operations, financial consolidations, payroll, tax filings, and audit support. Ani holds an M.S. in Accountancy, a CPA‐eligible Certificate of Accountancy from the University of Houston, and both an M.S. and B.S. in Economics from the University of Karachi.

Known for her precision and collaborative approach, Ani provides strategic financial guidance that fosters growth and stability. Outside of work, she enjoys trying new recipes and spending time with her family in Texas.

Mina serves as the tactical arm for Apex CAS’s financial operations, providing critical back-office and systems support that keeps client operations running smoothly. Her expertise spans accounting operations, AP/AR management, sales operations, and administrative coordination, with prior experience in semiconductor industry operations.

She is deeply involved in enabling clients’ day-to-day success—streamlining processes, supporting system workflows, and ensuring accuracy across financial and operational tasks.

Outside of work, Mina enjoys traveling with her family to support her children’s pursuits—from college athletics and flag football to art showcases—making the most of time spent together.

With a robust career spanning over 35 years, Erica Somes is a distinguished professional at APEX. Erica stands out as a highly experienced accounting professional specializing in tax preparation, auditing, finance, and advisory services. Erica’s career began in public accounting, where she spent 16 years refining her skills as an auditor and tax preparer. Her journey continued as a Corporate Controller for a wholesale petroleum company for next 8 years, igniting her enduring passion for financial management.

In 2014, Erica drew on her extensive experience to establish a family-owned transport logistics company, broadening her professional expertise. She later transitioned to a venture capital firm, where she oversaw comprehensive M&A activities, accounting and finance operations for a diverse portfolio, including holdings, investments, and client engagements.

Today, Erica also serves as an Advisory Consultant, providing CFO and Controller services that provide strategic financial guidance that fosters growth, stability, and effective risk management. Known for her commitment to delivering exceptional financial strategies, Erica continues to make significant contributions in her field.

A lifelong resident of Texas, Erica proudly calls Texas home and brings her deep industry knowledge and dedication to every client and project she undertakes.

Linda has held various roles in her career including bookkeeper, executive assistant, logistics manager, and purchasing agent. She enjoys being busy, learning new skills, and feeling that sense of accomplishment when finishing challenging projects. She also loves working with all of her co-workers.

On her days off, Linda loves spending time with her family, gardening, hiking, and making pottery.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Earth Science and a minor in Paleontology, Bianca has gained extensive experience in a diverse range of roles in agriculture, farming, and parks management, including 10+ years of project management.

Bianca particularly enjoys creating company manuals and policies for human resources, training, and safety. The sense of accomplishment that comes with closing a set of books and helping others with their IT issues lights her up. 

A food and beer enthusiast, when Bianca isn’t working, you’ll find her traveling, playing with her cats, working on DIY home projects, or looking for treasures at thrift stores. Originally a California native, Bianca currently resides in Michigan.

Emma has ten years of experience with bookkeeping and accounting in a variety of settings, including small businesses, startups, and multi-million-dollar corporations across many different industries such as alcohol and spirits, construction, retail, and manufacturing.

Things she loves about her job include her coworkers, solving bookkeeping puzzles, and the sense of accomplishment that comes with closing a set of books. Emma is also an accomplished musician with a degree in biology. 

When she’s not in the office, you’ll find Emma in Los Angeles spending time with her partner and family, playing music, and going on walks with her dog Flapjack.

Jesse Chen is a seasoned consultant at APEX CAS Consulting, where since 2022 he has specialized in cost accounting, SEC reporting, and full‐cycle accounting. His recent projects include cost accounting consulting for Elevate Semiconductor, controller consulting for Coherent Global, and leading SEC annual and quarterly filings for Finance of America and Clear Channel Communications. Prior to APEX, Jesse spent six years as Controller at Superconductor Technologies managing SEC reporting, government audits, and implementing ASC 606/842 to realize over $100K in annual savings followed by roles as Manufacturing Controller at Global Power Equipment Group and a 21‐year tenure at Weatherford International, where he standardized global month‐end close procedures for over 100 manufacturing sites.

Jesse holds a BBA in Accounting and Management from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Texas‐licensed CPA. He is proficient in advanced Excel, NetSuite, JD Edwards, Oracle, Workiva, SQL, and Power BI, and enjoys exploring financial technology innovations and process improvements.

For over 35 years, Andrea has done bookkeeping and accounting work, including owing and operating several businesses. She has experience in many industries, which gives her a unique perspective when working with our clients and our team. Training internal and client staff, putting out fires, and organizing clients are some of her favorite things!

In her free time, you’ll find Andrea camping, skiing, kayaking, or hiking with her three adorable dogs or spending time with her seven grandkids at big family events (another love of hers!). 

Jolié joined Apex CAS in 2021 to provide controllership and CFO services for multiple clients. Since then, she has taken on a leadership role in operations and staff training. With over 30 years experience in finance, Jolie’ has held numerous leadership position including Controller, Associate VP of Finance, CFO. She also has experience in non-profit higher education and information technology. 

Some of the daily activities Jolié enjoys the most include completing difficult reconciliations, streamlining processes to improve workflows, and working with a team of professionals she adores. 

An avid reader, Jolié enjoys up to 50 books a year in all genres. She also paints and has sung in and directed small musical theater groups. Family is a top priority for Jolié, and when she isn’t working, you’ll likely find her spending time with her husband, her children, and her grandchild.

Patricia is the owner of Apex CAS, where she takes pleasure in supporting clients’ visions and objectives while collaborating with the exceptional team at Apex CAS. She began her career as an accountant in the audit department at KPMG and later moved to international internal audit with Warner-Lambert (Pfizer).

After traveling for years, Patricia relocated to California to pursue a master’s degree in psychology and her passion for personal growth. During this time, she discovered her niche while working in a tax position at a small CPA firm, where she enjoyed working with entrepreneurs. Patricia spent 15 years providing tax, controllership, and consulting services to local CPA firms before starting her own firm.

Patricia possesses over 30 years of accounting experience, a master’s degree in counseling psychology, and certifications as a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach and a neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) practitioner. She has coached business owners and their teams for more than eight years and can assist her clients in achieving their goals, regardless of their aspirations, by using NLP in her services. When Patricia is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, learning to play the piano, and connecting with other fantastic individuals. She also stays active in her local community by serving as Treasurer and chairing the finance committee at Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm.
